Waste Management

RedKem Constructions carefully selects the waste collection companies to ensure they use modern technology to seperate the material collected through the skip bins and redirect them into different recycling systems. Recycled materials are repurposed as recycled timber, drainage gravel, road base products and much more.

Colour Selections

In Brisbane we’re in Climate Zone 2 (Warm humid summer, mild winter) and need to pay most attention to effective cooling. Lighter colour selections are encouraged in a Zone 2 climate. Darker colours on exterior wall materials and roofing can absorb heat during the day and release the heat into your home during the night making your living conditions less comfortable and less efficient.

Glazing

Glass in windows, external doors and skylights has significant effect on thermal performance. Up to 40% of a home’s heating energy can be lost and up to 87% of its heat gained through windows. Attention to orientation, window size and type of glass will get you the best performance.

Formaldehyde Free Kitchens:

We can use cabinetry carcasses that are made using classified E1 OR E0 rated board. This classification is based on the measurement of formaldehyde emission levels. E0 is classified as having less than 3 milligrams of formaldehyde out of every 100 grams of the glue used in particleboard and plywood fabrication. E1 and E2, conversely, are classified as having 9 and 30 grams of formaldehyde per 100 grams of glue respectively.

Recycled Glass Insulation:

Our insulation is made from recycled glass materials. Insulation is a material that resists the flow of heat energy into your home. Insulation is used to stop heat inside the home from escaping in winter, and to stop heat outside the home from entering in summer.

Rain Water Harvesting

Rainwater is a valuable natural resource. Using rainwater can reduce water bills, provide a water supply during water restrictions, and help maintain a healthy garden. Water savings can also be achieved by using rainwater indoors by supplying water to toilets and washing machines.
